Hans J. Wegner, the designer of iconic pieces such as the Peacock Chair, Round Chair (The Chair), and Wishbone Chair, is a pivotal figure in Nordic design. His pendant lamps offer flexible height adjustment, allowing for precise control over light distribution. The position of the bulb within the shade can also be adjusted, enabling variations in light spread and the lamp's visual appearance, making it a highly functional pendant.

The light emitted from the elegantly curved shade is soft, gently enveloping the space while soothing the soul.

Hans J. Wegner(1914–2007)

One of Denmark's most celebrated furniture designers, Wegner led the way in modern furniture design in the 20th century. After opening his own design studio in 1943, he created the "Chinese Chair," which, along with the "Round Chair" in 1949, formed the foundation for many of his subsequent chair designs. The "Round Chair" later became known as "The Chair" and is considered his masterpiece. The "Wishbone Chair" is also recognized as his most successful design. Wegner's collaboration with GETAMA began in the early 1950s, soon leading to the "GE290" sofa, admired for its beauty from both front and back. The daybed he designed for student dormitories showcased his exceptional design sensibility within a functional and simple form. Around this time, he also began incorporating materials like steel, not just wood, into his sofa designs. His work garnered numerous international awards, and in June 1997, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art in London.
