Expressing the softness of cashmere inspired by trees
As its name suggests, the "Tree Chair" features a smooth, curved form reminiscent of a tree. It is crafted from beech wood, known for its fine texture, high strength, and elasticity. The seat and backrest are available in white, black, gray, blue, and orange, with customizable color combinations.



Commenting on the release, Kengo Kuma stated, "I designed a chair like a tree. The essence of a tree lies in its soft composite structure, formed by intertwined fibers. These fiber bundles, much like lucien pellat-finet's cashmere, gently envelop the human body. By drawing inspiration from trees, I aimed to create a chair that is kind to the human body."


Kengo Kuma previously designed the architecture and interiors for lucien pellat-finet's Tokyo Midtown store, which opened in 2006, and its Osaka Shinsaibashi store, which opened in 2009. This reunion of two entities who intimately understand each other's appeal has culminated in a beautifully crafted chair that feels like a warm, inviting object. It is available from late January at lucien pellat-finet's Tokyo Midtown, Omotesando, and Shinsaibashi stores, among others.
