MAGIS Launches the "BRUT" Series, Designed by Konstantin Grcic, in Japan
MAGIS
Embracing Industrial Materials
With the Lightness of Sparkling Wine
MAGIS, a leading Italian furniture brand, introduces its new cast iron series, "BRUT," to Japan. This project began with the brand's desire to "create furniture with the most beautiful details," utilizing raw cast iron, a material historically used in Victorian garden furniture and more recently in manhole covers, tool parts, and building materials.
Designed by Konstantin Grcic, a leading figure in product design, the series features four items. "BRUT" means "unprocessed, raw," but as the name also applies to sparkling wine, it carries a dual meaning of "refined sweetness and a crisp, refreshing sensation." These products perfectly embody that concept.
