New Creations Utilizing Unique Technology
Tendo Mokko unveils its new furniture collection for 2018. The lineup features products with a captivating aesthetic, born from advanced molding techniques.

Molded Plywood Furniture Using Domestic Cedar
Tendo Mokko's proprietary technology, "Roll Press Wood" (RPW), compresses softwoods and applies them to molded plywood. This technology has now been used to create molded plywood furniture from compressed domestic cedar.
The "bambi" chair and table series evokes the lightness of a fawn, as its name suggests. By using strong molded plywood, the furniture is constructed with the minimum necessary components.
The frame, made with "komairi" molded plywood, is a distinctive feature, lending both simplicity and individuality to the chairs and tables. Their appealing design blends seamlessly into any space, making them suitable for areas where people gather, such as cafe spaces.
The tables are available in both rectangular and circular shapes.
The "Ten" coat hanger, with its artful molded plywood form, is another striking piece. Its shape appears to organically transform to fulfill its functions: hanging coats, holding small items on a tray, and standing independently. Composed simply of four frames and two trays, it adds a touch of color to any space.
Inspired by a Chair from a 1980s Bank Conference Room
This chair and table series is designed by Tsutomu Imazaki. The elegantly lined chair incorporates advanced molded plywood techniques. The frame utilizes two technologies – "uneven thickness molding" and "komairi molding" – to achieve both grace and strength.
The armrests of the armchair employ the "endless molding" technique. The smooth curves accent the overall design. The chair's design is based on a chair originally supplied to a special conference room in a bank in the 1980s.
Imazaki re-imagined this design. It's a product that also functions as a time machine, bringing beautiful furniture from the past into the present.
The tables are rectangular and come in two different sizes, allowing for selection based on available space.

The "TARU" Stool & Table, Evoking a Barrel
A cylindrical stool designed by Mikiya Kobayashi, its design highlights the rich texture of compressed cedar. It resembles a barrel with its simple form. Made from molded plywood, it is hollow inside. Lighter than it looks, it features an opening (handle) on the side for easy portability.
The table, with its distinctive semi-cylindrical legs, forms a single cylindrical base when placed together. Multiple units can be arranged, considering use in large spaces like public facilities.
Designed by Motomi Kawakami. The "STICK" Armchair & Table, Like a Cane
An armchair characterized by delicate frames resembling a cane. "Uneven thickness molding" achieves a light impression and solid strength. The simply constructed table also tapers towards the legs, giving it a light appearance.
Two types of wood are available: compressed cedar and white beech. The compressed cedar utilizes RPW, featuring a light form and the unique grain of cedar.
