FIL, an interior and lifestyle brand, opened its flagship store, "FIL STORE," in Oguni Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture in August 2017. The store and website offer furniture made from thinned wood from the local Oguni area, as well as fragrance items utilizing Oguni cedar.

The secret to its soft touch lies in the low fiber density of Oguni cedar.

The MASS series, as the name suggests, is a furniture line characterized by the "mass of wood." FIL products are made from Oguni cedar, a branded timber from Aso and Oguni towns. Due to its low fiber density, this Oguni cedar contains a significant amount of air. The "MASS Series Lounge Chair" fuses Nordic aesthetics with a beautiful copper-colored metal frame, achieving a comfortable seating experience that gently conforms to the body.

Oguni cedar is highly regarded nationwide for its strength, luster, and flexibility. It's also easy to move, allowing for flexible interior layout changes. In addition to chairs, FIL offers round tables and coat hangers. A simple, timeless design is common to all items.

FIL also decided to collect branches and leaves that were not needed during the felling of Oguni cedar and extract Oguni cedar essential oil in-house. By finding value in and purchasing these branches and leaves, they have established a cooperative relationship with loggers, aiming to contribute to forest conservation.

A highlight of their fragrance line is the room fragrance "Pot-pourri Susano." To express European potpourri with Oguni cedar, a custom FIL fragrance was created in collaboration with Miya Shinma PARFUMS in Paris. This potpourri, made by hand with time and care, blends Oguni cedar essential oil with natural fragrances like rosewood, patchouli, and frankincense, creating a scent that is both refreshing and deeply warm.
