New products unveiled at Milan Salone in April are now on display and available for purchase.

New Product Exhibition Held at Flagship Store 'Molteni Tokyo'

The new product exhibition for 2015 is being held from October 29 (Thursday) at 'Molteni Tokyo,' the first flagship store in Japan for Molteni&C, which opened in March in a quiet area of Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Within an interior that fuses delicate and beautiful Japanese elements with modern Italian design, curated by Patricia Urquiola, visitors can experience firsthand the new collections that garnered attention at Milan Salone.

Introducing items that pursue even greater luxury

Molteni, founded in 1934 in Giussano, in the Brianza region north of Milan, Italy, celebrates its 80th anniversary. Beginning as a woodworking factory, it became a central figure in the 1960s as a furniture manufacturer with a modern design approach focused on storage. Today, it is highly regarded by renowned architects and designers as a manufacturer with world-class technology and innovation.

In April of this year, a commemorative exhibition looking back at its 80-year history was held at the Milan Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition was curated by Jasper Morrison, and attracted many visitors from around the world during Salone, eager to discover its appeal.

Cabinets Showcasing the Pinnacle of Molteni's Craftsmanship

Designed by Dante Bonuccelli, 'KRISTAL' is a cabinet with beautiful three-dimensional transparency. This latest glass showcase cabinet, a result of Molteni's research and development, excels in design, function, and usability. It partitions spaces without feeling oppressive, adds a touch of sophistication, and can be used in various settings such as living rooms, dining rooms, closets, and entryways.

Molteni's wardrobe system 'GLISS' series has been refined with a design by Vincent Van Duysen. The new 'GLISS MASTER' allows selection from nine door finishes, and the interior features a uniquely developed material with a beautiful texture and sheen, resembling silk shantung. With the addition of units for displaying shoes and bags, lighting, and island drawers, it has been reborn as a wardrobe that combines functional beauty with expressive power.

To the 'CHELSEA' chair series, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni in 2014, which pursued the comfort of a classic bergère chair, three new living room items have been added: a sofa, a low-back lounge chair, and an ottoman.

Sofas and Beds Designed for Enhanced Home Comfort

Following the 'REVERSI ʼ14,' released in 2014 and reflecting contemporary trends with both functionality and design, based on the 2004 'REVERSI,' a new voluminous model, 'REVERSI XL,' has been added with a depth of 112cm, 14cm deeper than before. Designed by Studio Hans Wetzstein, this new sofa is simple yet powerful, and its increased depth allows for various styles of relaxation on the sofa.

The bed 'RIBBON,' designed by Vincent Van Duysen in his first collaboration with Molteni, is finished with soft cushioning and a gentle form that nonetheless conveys a sense of luxury. The thick, cushioned, high headboard provides comfort akin to leaning against a sofa, making time spent reading, watching TV, or simply relaxing in bed more enjoyable.
