The "Colonial Sofa," designed by Danish designer Ole Wanscher and first presented in 1964, is being reissued. It is inspired by Wanscher's iconic 1949 "Colonial Chair." The chair, itself inspired by 18th-century British furniture and the Colonial era, is characterized by its slender, elegant lines. The transition from armchair to sofa is a seamless and natural design, with a frame featuring a simple, lattice-like structure. Each component is shaped to support the others. The designer's aesthetic is evident in every detail, from the arms that curve fluidly in repeating arcs to the round legs at both the front and back. Durability has also been thoroughly considered, resulting in a form that combines grace with resilience. The release is scheduled for September 2015.
