1950s Modernism Seamlessly Matches Contemporary Interiors
This reissue, a collaboration between MARGARET HOWELL and ERCOL, was born from Margaret Howell's own passion for the innovative "bentwood" technique of the 1950s, resulting in perfectly unadorned forms.
The designs, influenced by 1950s modernism, transcend room styles and are characterized by their compact size, which fits well within Japanese interiors and pairs easily with contemporary furniture.
Enjoy the passage of time as the pieces develop character and change in color with age, and experience the joy of adding to your collection as your family grows, as these are timeless designs.
The new price lineup includes five items: the "STACKING CHAIR," designed in 1957 to be stacked vertically; the "BUTTERFLY CHAIR," a dining chair designed in 1958 that joins a traditional Windsor frame with a solid elm back and seat; the "LOVE SEAT," designed in 1956, featuring 19 spindles and a distinctive Windsor bow; the "TRIO-NEST OF TABLES," designed in 1956, comprising three stacking tables that fit together like a nest; and the "PLANK TABLES," a simple six-seater table designed in 1956.
"ERCOL" embodies the unpretentious simplicity characteristic of MARGARET HOWELL. We aim to integrate the essence of modern design into daily life.
