A Special Edition Remade with Loopwheeler's Sweatshirt Fabric

Eames Aluminum Group Chair Released for 5th Anniversary

On June 12th (Friday), BUILDING, a specialist in custom furniture celebrating its 5th anniversary, will release a special edition of the Eames Aluminum Group Chair, remade with sweatshirt fabric knitted on a loopwheel machine, in collaboration with the sweatshirt brand LOOPWHEELER.

A Timeless Chair, Over 50 Years Since Its Debut

The LOOPWHEELER for BUILDING "EAMES ALUMINUM GROUP CHAIR" is a special model born from the fusion of the historic product left by Charles and Ray Eames, the premium garments cultivated by Loopwheeler, and the creativity of BUILDING.

The Herman Miller Aluminum Group Chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958, was a product of cutting-edge design and technology for its time. More than 50 years later, it continues to be produced as the "basic office chair."

Experience Its Distinctive Soft Texture

This special edition Aluminum Group Chair is remade with genuine Loopwheeler sweatshirt fabric, knitted exclusively on Japan's remaining loopwheel machines. It is available in two classic Loopwheeler colors: grey mélange and black.

The seat, meticulously quilted with sweatshirt fabric, features a durable nylon base layer. This design preserves the signature soft texture of Loopwheeler fabric while ensuring strength.

A Remake Based on Used Originals

The base uses an authentic used Herman Miller frame. The knob for adjusting the rocking function is finished in Loopwheeler's corporate blue, and an original name tag is attached to the top of the seat.

The special edition "Eames Aluminum Group Chair" will go on sale at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2015. This is a limited production run, available only for the six months leading up to BUILDING's 5th anniversary on Sunday, December 13, 2015.
