KNIT GANG COUNCIL is a buzzed-about brand by artist Amiami☆Horinouchi, who knits icons of the era into colorful sweaters, and MEDICOM TOY. Regarding the origins of KNIT GANG COUNCIL,last year's interviewis detailed, but following the crew neck sweaters of Go Nagai's "Devilman" and Hajime Sorayama's "SEXY ROBOT" released in February 2019, the new release is a film by director Stanley Kubrick, whom MEDICOM TOY President and CEO Tatsuhiko Akashi deeply admires!

Director Kubrick's masterpiece "A Clockwork Orange" (1971), which marks 20 years since his passing this year, was adapted from the novel of the same name published by British author Anthony Burgess in '62. Set in near-future London, the film depicts the aimless days of Alex, a delinquent who expends all his energy on ultra-violence and Beethoven. Due to its content, the work was controversial and could not be screened in the UK from '73 until Kubrick's death in '99.

KNIT GANG COUNCIL has directly challenged this major title. The knit blouson, true to its name, features a sporty finish primarily in orange. The crew neck sweater and knit scarf boldly feature a portrait of Alex with a defiant smile. The designs are finished in a way that seems to imbue the wearer with mysterious power.
