This year marks the 35th anniversary of the brand "UNDERCOVER." MEDICOM TOY and UNDERCOVER have collaborated on numerous occasions, and now, "THE JANUS," which first appeared in UNDERCOVER's Spring/Summer 2018 collection, is being brought to life as a VCD.

In this milestone 35th anniversary year, UNDERCOVER's show in March paid homage to the "but beautiful...part parasitic part stuffed" collection from Autumn/Winter 2004-05, a collection deeply cherished by designer Jun Takahashi.

Born from the concept, "What if Patti Smith wore handmade clothes reminiscent of the unique creations by French doll maker Anne-Valerie Dupond?" this collection is one of the most beloved among fans. Twenty years later, rather than merely revisiting the past, the Autumn/Winter 2024-25 collection "but beautiful 4..." has evolved into contemporary ready-to-wear, garnering global attention.

Amidst this, the VCD (Vinyl Collectible Dolls) collaboration with MEDICOM TOY brings to life two characters that were popular as T-shirt graphics in the Spring/Summer 2018 collection "JANUS -the two faced god-". JANUS, the god of beginnings, signifies looking at both "past" and "future" simultaneously, and is also the origin of the word JANUARY. All garments from that collection were reversible, and during the show, two models walked the runway hand-in-hand, wearing the same outfit inside out.

The "VCD THE JANUS Stand Ver." features a green hat, a sticking-out tongue, and a pose that playfully beckons. The "VCD THE JANUS Sitting Ver." wears a burgundy hat, yawns, and strikes a metal sign with one hand and both feet. Notably, both versions have three eyes and a tail.

With a charming appearance like a mythical fairy and an air of mystery suggesting powers beyond human comprehension, these pieces embody UNDERCOVER's signature duality.
