The World's Finest Golf Club!? | PXG

Who is PXG?
What is a golfer's dream? A friend once answered that question by saying:
"To truly enjoy golf itself." I believe that's a profound statement. Unlike professionals who play to win, we are constantly concerned with our scores and admonishing ourselves.
But golf, in its essence, should be a sport for personal enjoyment, not an ordeal. I believe golf should be a much more natural part of our lifestyles.

A golf brand was born from a concept close to these sentiments. That brand is PXG. It stands for Parsons Xtreme Golf, named after its founder, Bob Parsons, who embodies the idea of golf as a lifestyle.
Bob, who achieved success and became a billionaire in his 30s, devoted himself to golf, his greatest hobby, but his scores wouldn't improve. So, he decided to create the ultimate golf club for himself, gathering top engineers to embark on the quest for the perfect club.
He gave his staff just three directives: First, beauty when viewed from above. Second, a sweet spot larger than the state of Texas. Third, exceptional ball-striking. "No limits on money or time!! Instead, deliver the world's finest golf heads!" PXG was born from the development of heads that met these simple yet ultimate demands.
What kind of clubs are they? We delved into the truth.
The Club Becomes You
When people choose golf clubs, they often try to adapt themselves to the clubs, focusing on distance, flex, and so on. PXG, however, takes the opposite approach. It aims to adapt the club to the golfer. The core idea behind this philosophy is not about distance, but about how to hit shots with fewer mistakes.
This likely stems from the developer's desire, mentioned earlier, to make golf an enjoyable part of one's lifestyle.
To realize this ideal, they conduct thorough fittings, meticulously combining heads, shafts, and grips into the optimal configuration for each individual, akin to a medical consultation.
Furthermore, even after purchase, these fittings can be adjusted multiple times to ensure the clubs remain in the best possible condition for the golfer at any given time.
It reminds me of Hermès, which, though expensive, is built to last for generations with meticulous maintenance, making it a valuable possession despite its price.
The clubs obtained through this fitting process are favored by numerous celebrities and professionals alike.
As one user put it, "I can now enjoy golf more simply." It's easy to imagine that by not forcing oneself to correct swing flaws, but rather by having the club accommodate and subtly compensate for those tendencies, mistakes will decrease, and consequently, the sport of golf will become simply enjoyable.

Experience the Fitting Magic
For this fitting, we invited Hiroshi Morioka, a fashion director and stylist familiar to our readers. He has recently become passionate about golf but struggles with his swing and inconsistent scores.
"I've been struggling lately, wondering if my current clubs are the right fit. I've been going back and forth, taking advice from various knowledgeable people."
This sounds like the perfect scenario for PXG.

This sounds like the perfect scenario for PXG.
The fitting began immediately. PXG studios employ fitting specialists who conduct thorough diagnostics. First, he was asked to take a few light swings in the hitting area. We started with a 7-iron, trying several PXG heads and shafts while checking Mr. Morioka's swing tendencies. The computer data, initially showing a tendency to hit left, gradually shifted towards straighter shots through various trials – it was like magic.
"There are swing habits I'm unaware of, and they were accurately pointed out. The fact that they don't just label them as bad but adjust the clubs to suit them is incredibly helpful for amateurs like me who are still searching," said Mr. Morioka.
Next was the putter. Again, heads were swapped, putts were taken, and the ball's trajectory was observed while making fine adjustments. His tendency to curve the ball slightly to the left was corrected, transforming it into a smoother roll.
"It's astonishing. I thought I was putting straight, but I realized a subtle habit was causing deviations. Perhaps this will finally free me from three-putts (laughs)."
As Mr. Morioka noted, this fitting is arguably the first step towards the PXG goal of mistake-free golf.
"This experience is invaluable. From my professional perspective, PXG fitting is akin to getting a custom-made suit. It fits your body perfectly and enhances your appearance. Similarly, my habits were analyzed, and the clubs were adjusted accordingly. I'm hopeful that with this, I'll no longer have to worry about clubs and can truly enjoy golf."
We eagerly anticipate Mr. Morioka's score in his next round, but more than that, we look forward to how much richer his golf life will become.
