A New Design to Foster Connection, Challenging the Pace of Modern Times
The new "Analog™" table (pictured above) is designed by Jaime Hayon for Fritz Hansen. It focuses on the table's original purpose: to bring people closer and deepen relationships. In today's world, saturated with communication via digital devices, "Analog" offers a device-free space, aiming to restore the genuine sense of togetherness that people once shared.
The tabletop of "Analog" defies simple categorization as square, round, or oval, instead embodying an organic, novel form that integrates characteristics of these three basic shapes. There is no hierarchy around this table; it provides an ideal foundation for the flat relationships of modern individuals, whether family, friends, or colleagues.
Jaime Hayon states, "I believe tables are an underestimated piece of furniture. For me, the table is the central item in any space, be it a home, office, or restaurant. Around the table, we share joys and sorrows, and spend wonderful moments at the end of the day. The defining feature of Analog lies in its form, which is neither square, round, nor oval, but rather seems to exist between them, supporting dialogue and intimacy. This shape, achieved through trial and error, balances weightiness with lightness. It exudes the special DNA of Fritz Hansen and a sense of quality."
"Analog™" tables are available in three sizes, with finishes in white laminate, oak, or walnut. Prices range from ¥170,000 to ¥303,000 (excluding tax).
A Unique and Luxurious Small Chair
Awakening from a slumber of over 50 years, the revived "Drop™" chair, designed by Arne Jacobsen, was originally designed in 1958 as part of the renowned Radisson Blu Royal Hotel project in Copenhagen. This chair, produced in very limited quantities alongside masterpieces like the Swan and Egg chairs for the Royal Hotel, has firmly established itself as an iconic collector's item.
This revival utilizes new manufacturing methods, resulting in a "Drop" chair that, while faithful to the original design, is now available upholstered in fabric or leather to complement modern interiors. The distinctive form of the backrest allows for easy movement while providing a sense of being enveloped. Its comfort is simply superb.
The "Drop™" chair is available in six plastic colors: black, white, storm blue, stone grey, fire red, and sand yellow. The base comes in a chrome finish or powder coating that matches the color of the chair. In addition to plastic, "Drop" is also available with fabric or leather upholstery. Prices start from ¥36,000 (excluding tax).
