Sculptural Forms Inspired by Bauhaus
Founded in 1825, HOLMEGAARD is a Danish glass brand renowned for its high-quality products, crafted using traditional mouth-blown techniques. Its excellence has earned it the distinction of being a Royal Danish Court supplier. In recent years, the brand has continued to innovate through collaborations with leading designers of the era. This summer, we turn our attention to the new series launching in 2021: 'FORMA'.

'FORMA' is a new series from HOLMEGAARD, the glass brand favored by the Danish Royal Family.
The inspiration for this collection comes from the Bauhaus movement, which brought about a paradigm shift in modern design through its emphasis on functionalism, geometric shapes, and the fusion of aesthetics and technology, all while eschewing superfluous ornamentation. Its influence continues to resonate with new generations of designers.
The design is the work of SÉCHÉ STUDIO, a Copenhagen-based design studio led by Laura Brandenburg Bilde. They specialize in creating timeless designs through an experimental approach, exploring the space between functionality and sculptural expression with a focus on materials.
As its name suggests, the new 'FORMA' series is a study in shape and material. It combines geometric archetypes such as cubes, spheres, and cylinders with how they meld within glass, presenting a graphical exploration of the medium.
The substantial solid glass, geometric surface patterns, and organic contrasts evoke a sculptural beauty. While functional as vases, bowls, and glasses, these pieces possess a striking presence that allows them to stand as art objects. Launching Friday, July 2, 2021.
