2011 sees the debut of new content: "TIDE Focus" and "TIDE Table"!

DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2011, a highly anticipated event, will be held from Saturday, October 29th to Thursday, November 3rd.
The event will center around the main venue at Tokyo Midtown Hall, featuring the exciting new "TIDE Focus" content where invited artists will present their works, the main exhibition "TIDE Exhibition" showcasing new ideas and works from designers with utmost precision, and the "TIDE Market" where visitors can purchase products directly from the designers. This year's event promises to be a vibrant exchange of "thought"—the source of creation—across Tokyo.

Isetan | RICHARD GINORI “LOVE COMMUNICATION” paola navone & minä perhonen
Following the success of "RICHARD GINORI 'CIAO CIAO' by paola navone," jointly held by Isetan Shinjuku and Richard Ginori last year, a special collaboration project "RICHARD GINORI 'LOVE COMMUNICATION' paola navone & minä perhonen" has been born from the wonderful encounter between minä perhonen and Richard Ginori's art director, Paola Navone. This exhibition will be held at Isetan Shinjuku from Wednesday, November 2nd to Tuesday, November 8th.

"Alessi & ECAL Project"
"Alessi - The Dream Factory," showcasing prototypes of desk accessories developed through a workshop between Alessi, celebrating its 90th anniversary, and students from ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne) in Switzerland, is being held at the "Alessi Shop Aoyama" until Sunday, November 6th.

Karimoku Furniture Exhibition Held
Karimoku Furniture will hold exhibitions at three locations, showcasing the "KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD NEW COLLECTION" presented at Milan Salone 2011, a concept shop by Creative Director Teruhiro Yanagihara, and the new series "HARU" and "Premium Order" designed by Mikiya Kobayashi.

Isetan | Love Chair Collection with HIRAMEKI Design×Finland
A chair as a living tool, essential for gathering and conversing with family, lovers, and friends.──The "LOVE CHAIR COLLECTION with HIRAMEKI Design×Finland," held at Isetan Shinjuku until Tuesday, November 8th, features an original chair collection created in collaboration with the Finnish design project "HIRAMEKI."

Focus on Creators Born in the 1980s!
"DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2011" has been further enhanced this year with five content areas: "TIDE Exhibition," "TIDE Market," "TIDE Extension," "TIDE Focus," and "TIDE Table." The second feature focuses on the young talents bringing fresh energy to the main venue with their vibrant sensibilities. In particular, we highlight five individuals and groups born in the 1980s who demonstrate unique approaches. Expectations are high for new creations, driven by what only the young can do.
