Cassette tapes have seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years, cherished for their warm sound and the satisfying tactile experience of ownership. TEAC has now released new double cassette decks for both consumer and professional use. Both models are designed for the digital audio era, offering a modern take on the classic cassette deck.

The W-1200 Double Cassette Deck
TEAC's new double cassette deck, the W-1200, features two one-way cassette mechanisms and a microphone mixing function, along with USB digital output, making it a versatile audio component.
In recent years, cassette tapes have gained popularity alongside vinyl records, appreciated for the warm, soft sound of analog audio and the satisfaction of owning physical media.
The W-1200 was developed as a product that combines the fundamental performance of a cassette deck with an interface suited for the digital audio age. It is capable of not only faithfully reproducing your cassette tape library but also offers a wide range of functions, including karaoke, playback of meeting minutes for business use, and digital recording on a computer.
It is equipped with a noise reduction system to reduce tape hiss, a USB output terminal, and an automatic detection function for normal, chrome, and metal tapes. It might be a good time to revisit your cherished cassette tapes from the past.
The 202MKVII Professional Double Cassette Deck
The 202MKVII is the successor to the TASCAM 202MKVI, a double cassette deck designed for professional use. It features two independent recording and playback mechanisms with one-way IC logic transport control, ensuring stability and durability for demanding environments. This cassette deck is ideal for installation sound systems.
It includes a simultaneous recording function for TAPE1/2 to reduce the effort of cassette duplication, and a microphone input with level control convenient for karaoke and announcements. The microphone mixing function is also included, providing essential features for audio applications.
Compared to the TASCAM 202MKVI, the 202MKVII has been updated to suit the current audio scene with the addition of a noise reduction function, headphone level adjustment, a USB digital output terminal, and a dedicated wireless remote control.
