Tomu Kawada on AR (Augmented Reality) Technology
AR (Augmented Reality) technology seamlessly blends the real and virtual worlds to create added value. Mr. Kawada, a developer in this field, expands human perception into the realm of computers, creating new values and lifestyles, and crafting experiences that bring surprise and delight to viewers.
The AR (Augmented Reality) developed by Mr. Kawada is a technology where desired information and related visuals are loaded and displayed in layers in real-time onto footage captured by a webcam or smartphone. It extends what was once confined to a screen, as in virtual reality, out into the world beyond the screen.
The Genius Told, "Live Without Lying to Your Senses"
Mr. Kawada, often called a genius, perceived people and things differently from those around him from a young age. He would reportedly take over lessons from his teachers in elementary school to teach alternative methods not found in official curricula, and he once ranked first in a Tokyo metropolitan academic test. At that time, his teacher told him, "You are different from others, but live without lying to your senses."
We aim to expand the unique and exciting talk by Tomu Kawada, who, even as an adult, has continued to create without making excuses for his senses, and whose ideas bring the unprecedented into reality, within the THINK venue.
We hope you will all enjoy experiencing AR, something not easily encountered.
