The Openers Manifesto
Encounters with Small Wonders
Objects that captivate us, that stir our very souls.
The feelings that begin to glow deep within when we hold them...
From childhood, I was drawn to old objects deeply connected to life in Russia and Europe. Later, as I grew older back in Tokyo, I became interested in and began collecting "vintage tableware" that still exists in America.
Crafted by countless nameless product designers across various eras and places, these pieces transcend time, blending into people's daily lives today and imprinting subtle, invisible memories.
In OPENERS's series, I will delve into the details of items from the 1920s to the 1970s—kitchenware and tableware that formed the core of modern design, heavily influenced by American history and culture—and introduce their allure to you, based on my own interpretation.
Please look forward to it.
