What Does an Author Agent Do?

Vagabond, Dragon Zakura, Hataraki-man, Space Brothers... Many of you have likely been inspired, moved to tears, or deeply touched by these works.

Our guest today, Yohei Sadoshima, was the editor behind many of these hit titles at Kodansha. After ten years with the company, he went independent to found his current firm, "Cork."

From editor to author agent. From an employee to a company owner. As content expands and the publishing industry transforms, Cork may well be the first company to establish a role as an author agent, rather than an editor.

So, what exactly does an agent do? Sadoshima will share his thoughts on the future of editing, his vision for a new business model, and perhaps even new approaches to our relationship with the written word and the future of work itself. Don't miss this chance to delve into the core of the thinking of Sadoshima, a pioneer who has brought forth numerous hit works.
