The "ID Chair Concept" Office Chair Adapts to Individual Needs
Usable anywhere, adaptable to everything. Could such a universally satisfying office chair exist? User demands for chairs are incredibly diverse, and personal aesthetic preferences vary widely. Finding that perfect, "just right" chair is exceptionally difficult. So, what if an office chair could be tailored to each individual's needs? This is the challenge taken up by "ID Chair Concept," a collaboration between architect Antonio Citterio and Vitra.

A Chair That's Good News for Those Who Spend Most of Their Day Seated
The "ID Chair Concept" allows for smooth back movements and enables forward and backward tilting in sync with weight shifts. Its most striking feature is the four distinct backrest options. The first is a 3D fabric net cover that envelops the frame. The second offers a classic, cushioned feel. The third is a modern type with an impressive handmade aesthetic.
A key aspect of the "ID Chair Concept" is the ability to select basic elements like lumbar support, armrests, headrests, and coat hangers to suit individual use. Furthermore, the frame and cover colors move beyond the typical office chair black, incorporating brighter tones that reflect a sense of relaxation. With customization possible in functionality, comfort, aesthetics, and price, the design offers approximately 8,000 possible combinations.
The "ID Chair Concept" excels in overall cost performance, considering ergonomics, versatility, and product lifespan. Most importantly, it promises to boost productivity, leading to delighted exclamations of "I can't help but get work done!"
