Limited Edition "Esseesse" Launched, Paying Homage to the Classic "595 SS"

FCA Japan is launching the "Esseesse," a limited edition model paying homage to the classic high-performance "595 SS (Super Sport)," for both the Abarth "595" sports hatchback and the "595C" convertible. A total of 305 units will be available from Saturday, September 19, 2020.

A Convertible Model, Not Available in the Standard Lineup, Also Appears

The "Fiat Abarth 595 SS," a further tuned version of the original "Fiat Abarth 595" from the 595 series introduced in 1963, is revived for the modern era as the "Esseesse." This model is available for both the 595 and the 595C convertible, which is not offered in the standard lineup.
The "Esseesse" in the model name is an Italian pronunciation of "SS." As the name suggests, like the classic "595 SS," it features numerous exclusive elements, including an exhaust system tuned for enhanced sportiness and side stripes.

The limited edition is based on the "595 Competizione," which produces a maximum output of 180 hp, and is further equipped with an Akrapovič exhaust system. This system delivers a different exhaust note compared to the standard Record Monza muffler found on the base vehicle.
The body color adopts a gray reminiscent of the "595 SS," complemented by modern touches such as 17-inch alloy wheels with a white finish and side stripes.

The interior features Sabelt sports seats with exclusive red stitching and a dedicated carbon instrument panel. Both the hatchback and convertible models are available with either a 5-speed sequential transmission with AT mode (MTA) or a 5-speed manual transmission.
Sales numbers and pricing are as follows: 110 units of the hatchback 595 with manual transmission at 4.03 million yen, and 60 units with MTA at 4.20 million yen. For the convertible 595C, there are 90 units with manual transmission at 4.26 million yen, and 45 units with MTA at 4.43 million yen.
