Two Limited Models Also Announced
The Wrangler, with its iconic design and superior off-road capability, has been refined. The updated model, based on the fourth-generation introduced in Japan in 2018, has arrived.
In conjunction with this update, the lineup has also been revamped. The entry-grade "Unlimited Sport" (hereafter "Sport") has been newly established, creating a three-grade structure comprising the "Unlimited Sahara" (hereafter "Sahara") and the "Unlimited Rubicon" (hereafter "Rubicon").
Unlimited Rubicon
The exterior features a new black-textured 7-slot grille, with "Sport" and "Rubicon" models receiving neutral gray metallic surrounds, while the "Sahara" gets platinum silver grille surrounds.
The wheels have been redesigned for a more stylish appearance. The "Sport" is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels with gray accents, and the "Sahara" features 18-inch alloy wheels, both fitted with all-terrain tires.
Unlimited Sahara
Within the grades, the most hardcore "Rubicon" is equipped with dedicated 17-inch alloy wheels and mud-and-terrain tires.
Inside, side curtain airbags for the front and rear are adopted for the first time in a Wrangler. Standard on all grades, this enhances safety.
Additionally, all grades feature the 5th-generation Uconnect®5 system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay supports wireless connection, and Android Auto is also compatible.
In terms of driving dynamics, the "Rubicon" adopts a "full-float rear axle." Compared to the conventional semi-float structure, this more robust and rigid design enhances the maximum towing capacity.
All engines are 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo units producing a maximum output of 200kW (272ps) and a peak torque of 400Nm. They are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and drive can be selected between rear-wheel drive (FR) and four-wheel drive to suit the scene.
Body colors for the "Sahara" are available in Bright White and Black. For the other grades, in addition to these two colors, Firecracker Red and Granite Crystal Metallic are also available.
Prices are 7.99 million yen for the "Sport," 8.39 million yen for the "Sahara," and 8.89 million yen for the "Rubicon."
Unlimited Rubicon High Velocity
To commemorate the launch of the new model, a limited edition "Unlimited Rubicon High Velocity" in a vivid yellow body color (10 units) and a "Unlimited Sahara Launch Edition" (300 units) have also been announced.
The "Unlimited Sahara Launch Edition," based on the Sahara, features special equipment such as fender decals depicting the topography of Toledo North, where the Wrangler is manufactured, and tailgate decals with the Jeep founding year "1941" logo.
Unlimited Sahara Launch Edition
These two limited models will be sold via lottery, with applications accepted until Friday, May 17th. The price for the "Unlimited Rubicon High Velocity" (limited to 10 units) is 8.99 million yen, and for the "Unlimited Sahara Launch Edition" (limited to 300 units) is 8.49 million yen.
