New R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure Debut, Celebrating 40 Years
BMW has announced the new R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure touring enduro models, which went on sale on Friday, January 15, 2021.

The GS celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020. It has been loved by many as an all-around motorcycle for off-road, touring, and adventure.
R 1250 GS
The R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, released this time, are adventure models capable of both on-road and off-road riding, equipped with numerous new features and equipment. Notably, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), which contributes to high safety, is standard.
A new Eco mode has been added to the seven lighting modes. Furthermore, a new Dynamic Engine Brake Control function has been introduced, which safely prevents excessive rear-wheel slip or unstable riding conditions during high-RPM operation or downshifting.
R 1250 GS Adventure
In addition, BMW Integral ABS Pro is standard, along with Hill Start Control, a convenient assistant system for starting and stopping on slopes, which improves starting performance in all situations, including on inclines.
The powertrain features BMW's traditional 1,254cc two-cylinder boxer engine, producing a maximum output of 100 kW (136 hp) and a maximum torque of 143 Nm.
Prices range from 2,192,000 to 2,656,000 yen for the R 1250 GS, and from 2,319,000 to 2,786,000 yen for the R 1250 GS Adventure.

R 1250 GS Adventure 40 Years GS Edition
To commemorate the GS's 40th anniversary, a special black and yellow "40 Years GS Edition" color scheme, inspired by the classic R 100 GS, is also available for both models. The price is an additional 254,000 yen for the R 1250 GS and 223,000 yen for the R 1250 GS Adventure.
