Renault Japon has announced that the Mégane R.S. Trophy R, which set a new record for the fastest production front-wheel-drive car at the Nürburgring Nordschleife last year, will be produced in a limited run of 500 units worldwide, with 47 allocated for Japan. Purchase applications are now open. Furthermore, only four units of the "Carbon-Ceramic Pack" version, limited to 30 units globally, will be available in Japan.

In April 2019, the Mégane R.S. Trophy R recorded a lap time of 7 minutes 40.100 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, establishing a new benchmark for production front-wheel-drive cars.

Based on the Mégane R.S. Trophy, this model was developed with the goal of improving circuit lap times not through increased engine power, but through weight reduction, enhanced chassis performance including suspension, and improved aerodynamics.

The "Carbon-Ceramic Pack" further equips the car with specialized features for expert drivers, such as lightweight carbon wheels and carbon-ceramic front brake discs, catering to a higher level of driving skill.

The body color is exclusively Blanc Nacré Metallic. Sales numbers and pricing are as follows: 47 units of the Mégane R.S. Trophy R at ¥6,890,000, and 4 units of the Carbon-Ceramic Pack at ¥9,490,000.

Purchase applications for the Mégane R.S. Trophy R will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, while the Carbon-Ceramic Pack will be sold via lottery.
