Honda has launched personal leases for its Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV), the Clarity Fuel Cell.

Personal leases for the Clarity Fuel Cell, which received a facelift in December 2019, have now begun.

Previously, Honda collected feedback and requests through leases to municipalities and corporations. Based on data analysis of user driving habits and performance, as well as the expansion of hydrogen refueling stations, Honda decided to offer leases to individuals.

The Clarity Fuel Cell emits only water with zero CO2, refuels in about three minutes—comparable to filling a gasoline car—and achieves a driving range of approximately 750 km on a single hydrogen fill. Its motor produces a maximum output of 130 kW, and by housing the fuel cell powertrain within the hood, it achieves the world's first five-seater configuration for a sedan-type FCV.

The car is available in three body colors: white, black, and red. It will be offered only through leasing, not for sale.
