BMW M3 Sedan / M4 Coupe Now Available with xDrive All-Wheel Drive
On September 3, BMW announced the addition of the BMW M3 Sedan / M4 Coupe Competition M xDrive, a four-wheel-drive model, to its M high-performance lineup, which pushes circuit driving performance to the extreme. The new models will be available for purchase from the same day, with deliveries scheduled to begin in late September this year.

A "2WD Mode" is Also Available for Skilled Drivers
The newly announced M3 Sedan / M4 Coupe Competition M xDrive features a straight-six BMW M TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 375 kW (510 hp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, transmitted to the road via the M xDrive, a four-wheel-drive system exclusive to M models.
M xDrive is controlled by a "Driving Dynamics Control" system developed exclusively for M models, based on the intelligent four-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive and the Active M Differential.
Furthermore, the vehicles are equipped with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) to support stable driving. This system is said to offer a diverse range of driving enjoyment, from stable everyday driving to active circuit driving.
The basic system setting is "DSC On - 4WD Mode," which fully unleashes the M model's characteristic agility. In M Dynamic Mode (MDM, 4WD Sport), drive torque distribution to the rear axle is increased, allowing for greater rear-wheel slip and enabling more varied handling.
Additionally, when DSC is off, drivers can select "4WD Mode," "4WD Sport Mode," and "2WD Mode." "4WD Mode" offers the best balance of control and traction, while "4WD Sport Mode" combines higher steering precision with powerful traction for a sportier driving experience.
Furthermore, for skilled drivers, there is the "2WD Mode," which directs power to the rear wheels only. This setting disengages the intervention of the control systems that limit the car's behavior, allowing drivers to directly experience the joy of controlling the vehicle themselves.
Additionally, both models are available with a Track Package designed for extreme circuit driving. To enhance performance, this package omits advanced safety features, resulting in a weight reduction of approximately 25 kg. It comes standard with the M Driver's Package, M Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and M Carbon Bucket Seats, making it a model focused on circuit driving.
Pricing is as follows: BMW M3 Sedan Competition M xDrive at 13.54 million yen, BMW M3 Sedan Competition M xDrive Track Package at 14.66 million yen, BMW M4 Coupe Competition M xDrive at 13.78 million yen, and BMW M4 Coupe Competition M xDrive Track Package at 14.90 million yen.
