Alpine Undergoes Minor Changes, Adopting a Three-Grade System with Distinct Personalities
Alpine Japan has made minor changes to its two-seater sports car, the "A110." It will now feature a three-grade system with new "A110," "A110 GT," and "A110 S" models, with orders opening on February 10, 2022 (Thursday). Concurrently, to commemorate the launch of the "A110," the "A110 S Ascension," equipped with an aero kit to maximize the performance of the sportiest "A110 S," will be sold in a limited edition of 30 units.
The Limited Edition "A110 S Ascension" Features a Dedicated Aero Kit and Semi-Slick Tires
The French sports car "A110" captivates with its unique presence, achieved through thorough weight reduction, including its aluminum body, and a compact mid-engine layout reminiscent of the original A110.
Previously, the lineup consisted of the "A110 Pure," which strongly inherited the characteristics of the original A110; the "A110 Linage," distinguished by its refined design and comfort; and the "A110S," featuring a high-output engine and specially tuned chassis. Following the minor changes, the lineup has been reorganized into the "A110," "A110 GT," and "A110 S," with the distinct features of each grade further emphasized.
All models are powered by a 1.8-liter turbo engine. The base grade "A110," weighing a light 1110kg, produces a maximum output of 252ps and a peak torque of 320Nm. The unit powering the "A110 GT," designed for grand touring with an interior that evokes French elegance and equipped with FOCAL four-speaker audio and a lightweight subwoofer, has been boosted to 300ps and 340Nm.
The "A110 S," designed for performance on closed courses, also produces a maximum output of 300ps and a peak torque of 340Nm, similar to the "A110 GT." However, it features the sportier "Chassis Sport" and dampers tuned accordingly. The rigidity of the anti-roll bars has also been increased, which Alpine claims delivers power to the road without loss, ensuring precise and rapid steering response and high-speed stability.
Furthermore, Alpine has announced the "A110 S Ascension," an enhanced version of the "A110 S." This limited edition model, available in 15 units each of blue and orange for a total of 30 units, features an aero kit to increase downforce for improved high-speed stability and top speed, semi-slick tires for immense grip, and a dedicated interior trim.
All models now feature a new multimedia system, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, significantly enhancing the infotainment experience.
Pricing is as follows: "A110" at 8.11 million yen, "A110 GT" at 8.93 million yen, "A110 S" at 8.97 million yen, and "A110 S Ascension" at 10.59 million yen.
