0-100 km/h Acceleration of 6.0 Seconds Achieved with E-Four Electric 4WD System

The powertrain mounted on the RAV4 PHEV is a "THS II Plug-in" plug-in hybrid system with a reduction gear, which generates a system maximum output of 306 ps (225 kW). It consists of a 2.5-liter A25A-FXS engine with a maximum output of 177 ps (130 kW) at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 219 Nm at 3,600 rpm, paired with two motors: a front motor with 182 ps (134 kW) and 270 Nm, and a rear motor with 54 ps (40 kW) and 121 Nm.

The drive battery is a 18.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. With the E-Four electric 4WD system, it achieves a powerful acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds. The EV driving range on a full charge is 95 km, and the hybrid fuel economy is 22.2 km/l. The 55-liter gasoline tank ensures a cruising range of up to 1,300 km.
The TNGA platform uses GA-K. By mounting the large-capacity lithium-ion battery under the center floor of the vehicle, it is possible to optimize the low center of gravity and weight balance, realizing a high-quality ride and excellent maneuverability. Furthermore, by utilizing the battery power not only during EV driving but also during HV driving, quiet driving with suppressed engine speed is possible.

Measures are taken to prevent a decrease in EV driving range by appropriately managing the temperature of the lithium-ion battery using the air conditioner refrigerant and by adopting a heat pump air conditioner to reduce power consumption when the air conditioner is in use.
In terms of convenience, a maximum 1,500W (AC100V) external power supply function, useful during power outages and disasters, is standard equipment. In addition to the accessory outlet in the luggage compartment, the included vehicle power connector can also be used as an external power outlet.
Additionally, EV Power Supply Mode and HV Power Supply Mode can be set according to the intended use. The latter can supply approximately three days' worth of electricity on a full tank of gasoline (when continuously used at the maximum output of 1,500W).

The exterior features a dedicated front grille and lower molding, LED headlights, and newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels, all asserting its status as the top-grade model. Six exterior colors are available, including the PHV-exclusive Emotional Red II. The "BLACK TONE" model features a two-tone color scheme with striking black accents.
The interior boasts a black-themed space with red stitching to create a sense of luxury. All models come standard with synthetic leather sports seats equipped with comfortable heating for the front seats and seat heaters for the rear seats.
Advanced features include a large 9-inch display audio system that connects with smartphones, "Toyota Safety Sense" which now detects pedestrians and cyclists (daytime only), "Parking Support Brake (Stationary Objects)," "Panoramic View Monitor," and a "Head-Up Display."
The prices for each grade are: G at 4.69 million yen, "Z" at 4.99 million yen, and BLACK TONE at 5.39 million yen.
