BMW Launches the Next-Generation Electric Vehicle iX, Also Introducing the iX3 | BMW
Blue Accents Around the Logo and Kidney Grille Emphasize Its Distinctiveness from the Standard X3
The "iX3," on the other hand, is the electric version of the mid-size SUV "X3." Its body dimensions are 4,740 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,865 mm. It is powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 210 kW and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, driving the rear wheels. The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 232 Ah, providing a range of 460 km on a single charge.
Charging is possible at up to 80 kW with compatible DC fast chargers, and up to 9.6 kW with home or public AC chargers. Using an 80 kW DC fast charger, charging to approximately 80% takes under 70 minutes, and a 10-minute DC fast charge can extend the range by approximately 80 km. AC charging can fully charge the battery from 0 to 100% overnight (approximately 8 hours).
The design features blue accents around the BMW logo, the distinctive kidney grille, parts of the rear spoiler, the start/stop button, and the area around the shift knob, asserting its distinct identity from the standard BMW X3.
It also comes standard with features to reduce driver workload, such as the "Traffic Jam Assistant with Hands-Off Function" and the "Reversing Assistant," which remembers the route taken for up to 50 meters and can accurately reverse back along it. Prices range from 6.99 million to 8.62 million yen.
