All-New Honda Accord, Fully Redesigned, Now on Sale
Honda announced on February 21st that the fully redesigned new Accord sedan would go on sale the same day. The lineup is exclusively the hybrid "Accord EX," priced at 4.65 million yen. The monthly sales target is set at 300 units.
Powertrain Features Honda's Original Two-Motor Hybrid System
Since its debut in 1976, the Accord has been a flagship sedan for Honda, sold in over 120 countries and regions worldwide, with cumulative sales reaching 20 million units.
This tenth-generation Accord boasts an exterior with a low, wide, and clean design. The interior offers a spacious cabin, achieved through structural changes to the body and an extended wheelbase.
The interior aims to be a refined, concert-hall-like space, engaging all the senses with an easily viewable interface and a steering wheel that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.
The body utilizes a new-generation platform designed for the Accord, ensuring light weight, high rigidity, and a low center of gravity. Features like an active damper system, which independently controls damping force for each wheel, contribute to a sophisticated balance of exhilarating handling and a flat, comfortable ride.
The powertrain is equipped with Honda's proprietary "e:HEV" hybrid system, combining a 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine with two motors. This system delivers a linear, agile driving experience and excellent fuel efficiency. Fuel economy is rated at 30.0 km/L under the JC08 test cycle. The "Honda SENSING" suite of advanced safety features comes as standard equipment.
