Mercedes-Benz Japan has announced the addition of the entry-level "CLA180" and the high-performance "Mercedes AMG CLA35 4MATIC" to its stylish four-door CLA and CLA Shooting Brake models, and has begun accepting pre-orders.

The "CLA180" is equipped with the "M282" engine, a 1.33-liter unit that is smaller than the previous generation but boasts an increased output of 136ps (100kW) and a maximum torque of 200Nm. Paired with the "7G-DCT" 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, it drives the front wheels and provides sufficient power to accelerate the CLA's body nimbly.

The other model, the "Mercedes AMG CLA35 4MATIC," is a new series that achieves high-level driving performance without compromising comfort by incorporating a high-output engine, four-wheel-drive system, high-rigidity body, and high-performance suspension into front-wheel-drive models such as the A-Class.

The powertrain consists of the "M260" 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo engine, producing a maximum output of 306ps (225kW) and a maximum torque of 400Nm. The transmission is the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which allows for quick shifts and optimal gear engagement during upshifts.

The drive system is the AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive with variable torque distribution, which adjusts the front-to-rear distribution from 100:0 to 50:50 depending on the situation.

In terms of design, the front features Mercedes-AMG's signature twin-blade front grille, a silver chrome front splitter, and horizontal fins in the left and right air intakes. The rear is differentiated from the normal model with a large diffuser and dual exhaust tips with a circular chrome finish. Furthermore, the CLA35 4MATIC is equipped with a trunk lid spoiler, while the CLA35 4MATIC Shooting Brake features a roof spoiler.

Inside, the cockpit display can be selected from three AMG-specific display styles, including "Supersport," and a sporty design is adopted, including semi-bucket seats.

Additionally, selecting the "AMG Performance Package" includes the flat-bottomed "AMG Performance Steering Wheel" in Nappa leather/DINAMICA and "AMG Performance Seats" with enhanced side support.

The prices are ¥4.46 million for the CLA180 and ¥4.57 million for the Shooting Brake, ¥6.85 million for the AMG CLA35 4MATIC and ¥6.95 million for the Shooting Brake. Deliveries for the CLA models are scheduled to begin around March of this year, with the Shooting Brake models expected around May.
