Online Event Held to Commemorate the GR Yaris Debut
Toyota launched the GR Yaris, a sports model of its compact car "Yaris," on September 4, 2020. To commemorate the launch, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will hold an online event, "GR Yaris Online Fes," starting at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, September 16.

Experience a VR Ride-Along in the GR Yaris Driven by Master Driver Morizo
Developed with the concept of "creating a competitive car for WRC (FIA World Rally Championship)," the GR Yaris has finally debuted. It was developed to be "safely and intuitively driven by anyone, anywhere in the world," with evaluations from professional external drivers from the initial stages.
There are two powertrain options. In addition to the entry-grade "RS" with a 1.5-liter inline three-cylinder engine driving the front wheels, the base model "RC" and the rally-based model "RZ" are equipped with a newly developed 1.6-liter inline three-cylinder turbo engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Power is delivered to all four wheels via the also newly developed GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system.
Furthermore, a dedicated "GR Factory" line has been newly established at the Motomachi Plant (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture), which has produced numerous sports models. The GR Yaris is crafted by employees possessing "Takumi" craftsmanship skills.
The online event "GR Yaris Online Fes," held to commemorate the debut, will introduce the aspirations and history behind the GR Yaris's development, as well as the "GR Factory." Additionally, attendees can experience a VR ride-along in the GR Yaris driven by Master Driver Morizo, also known as President Akio Toyoda.
The price of the GR Yaris is 2.65 million yen for the "RS," 3.3 million yen for the "RC," 3.96 million yen for the "RZ," and 4.56 million yen for the "RZ High performance," which offers enhanced ultimate performance.
