Forester Gets a Tough Special Edition: The X-Edition
Subaru has announced the "X-Edition," a special edition of its SUV, the Forester. Sales will begin on Thursday, January 23, 2020.
Water-Repellent Seats Ready for Active Scenes
The Forester is Subaru's global strategic vehicle. The fifth generation, released in 2018, evolved with the adoption of the new Subaru Global Platform, among other enhancements.
The "X-Edition" announced this time is based on the high-grade "Premium" model, which is powered by a 2.5-liter engine producing 184ps and 239Nm of torque. It features equipment designed for tough use, further emphasizing its powerful exterior.
Inside, water-repellent seats and a cargo floorboard have been incorporated to improve everyday usability and enhance its capability for active pursuits like outdoor adventures. Additionally, a cargo room lamp and rear gate lamp, utilizing LEDs for wide illumination, offer high convenience even in dark conditions.
The exterior is equipped with 18-inch gunmetal-painted aluminum wheels. Combined with a dark metallic-finished front grille and fog lamp covers, this further accentuates the SUV's rugged appearance.
Safety features include the EyeSight Safety Plus, which enhances visibility, as a special equipment. It is said to reduce blind spots in the front and rear.
The price is 3,179,000 yen, approximately 100,000 yen more than the base grade.
