On October 3 (Thursday), Mercedes-Benz Japan began accepting orders for a minor change to the mid-size SUVs "GLC" and "GLC Coupé."

The "GLC," an SUV based on the C-Class, and the coupe-styled "GLC Coupé" have received a minor change, with their interiors and exteriors updated.
The exterior features a front underguard with a chrome finish and a bonnet with power domes, expressing SUV presence and power. The radiator grille is equipped with a distinctive twin-louvre design, emphasizing its SUV character.
The rear has also been redesigned along with the bumper and exhaust tips, as well as the full LED combination lamps. It features a block design, the new signature of Mercedes-Benz SUVs.
While the interior maintains its concept, it is equipped with a 10.25-inch wide display. The steering wheel shares the same design as the S-Class and includes touch control buttons that allow for navigation and vehicle settings to be operated without removing hands from the wheel, improving operability. It is equipped with the interactive infotainment system "MBUX," which is activated by the keyword "Hey, Mercedes."
For the powertrain, the "GLC 220d 4MATIC" adopts a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder diesel turbo engine, also found in the E-Class, with a maximum output of 134 kW (194 PS) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The "GLC 300 4MATIC" is equipped with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine. Compared to the previous "GLC 250 4MATIC Sport," the maximum output has increased by 35 kW (47 PS) to 190 kW (258 PS), and the maximum torque has increased by 20 Nm to 370 Nm. Both models feature a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Furthermore, the "Mercedes-AMG 43 Series" and "Mercedes-AMG 63 Series," equipped with V6 engines and four-wheel-drive systems developed exclusively by Mercedes-AMG, are also part of the lineup. In the "Mercedes-AMG 43 Series," the 3.0-liter V6 direct-injection twin-turbo engine has been enhanced by larger turbochargers and improved control, increasing its output by 17 kW (23 PS) to 287 kW (390 PS). Additionally, it adopts the AMG-exclusive radiator grille with vertical louvres for the first time in the 43 Series.
The "Mercedes-AMG 63 Series" is equipped with the AMG-exclusive radiator grille featuring vertical louvres, as seen in previous models. The S models within the 63 Series, which represent the highest performance, are equipped with the "AMG DYNAMIC SELECT" drive mode switch, allowing drivers to change driving modes without removing their hands from the steering wheel.
All models are equipped with enhanced safety features. The latest generation of driving assistance systems, equivalent to those in the "C-Class" and "S-Class," are standard, with the addition of "Active Brake Assist."
Delivery is scheduled to begin around December of this year for the AMG models, and around November for the other models. Prices start at 6.9 million yen for the "GLC 220d 4MATIC," 7.75 million yen for the "300 4MATIC," 9.48 million yen for the "AMG GLC 43 4MATIC," 13.13 million yen for the "AMG GLC 63 4MATIC+" with its 4.0-liter V8 direct-injection twin-turbo engine, and 14.87 million yen for the "AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC+."
For the coupe-styled GLC Coupé, prices are 7.21 million yen for the "220d 4MATIC," 8.07 million yen for the "300 4MATIC," 9.80 million yen for the "AMG GLC 43 4MATIC," 13.44 million yen for the "AMG GLC 63 4MATIC+," and 15.19 million yen for the "AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC+."
