BMW 4 Series Convertible Gains a Performance-Focused M Model

BMW has launched the M440i xDrive Cabriolet, an M model based on the 4 Series Convertible.

The second-generation 4 Series debuted in October 2020. An M Performance model, already available for the coupe, has now been added for the convertible.

BMW M develops high-performance machines in two categories: M High Performance models, designed for track driving, and M Performance models, which incorporate technology honed on the track to enhance driving dynamics. The newly launched M440i xDrive Cabriolet falls into the latter category.

The exterior features Cerium Grey, a color exclusive to M Performance models, on the kidney grille, air intakes, and mirror caps, creating a distinctive and high-performance presence. A M rear spoiler is equipped on the trunk lid to improve aerodynamics and enhance stability at high speeds.

The powertrain features a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbo engine producing 285 kW (387 hp) and 500 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system, M adaptive suspension, and M differential ensure stable control and sporty driving even on rough roads.

Standard safety features include Traffic Jam Assist with hands-off driving capability on highways, along with Driving Assistant Plus, which incorporates Active Cruise Control and unintended acceleration prevention.

Additionally, the standard Parking Assistant includes a Reversing Assistant function that recalls the vehicle's last 50 meters of forward driving and can accurately retrace the same path in reverse.

Connectivity features include the Intelligent Personal Assistant, activated by saying "OK, BMW," which allows for vehicle operation and destination setting. BMW ConnectedDrive is also standard, enabling keyless locking, unlocking, and engine start by simply holding an iPhone near the door handle.
