Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems and New-Generation Infotainment System Also Equipped
Since its birth in 1973, the Passat has sold over 30 million units worldwide, making it one of the core models representing the Volkswagen brand. Currently, three models are available: the Passat, Passat Variant, and Passat Alltrack. This minor change includes updates to the exterior and interior, powertrain modifications, and the integration of advanced driver-assistance systems and a new-generation infotainment system.

The exterior has been updated with new front and rear bumpers, a radiator grille, and a "Passat" logo now positioned on the lower rear section. Inside, the dashboard features a backlit "Passat" logo instead of the previous analog clock. The ambient lighting color now reflects the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, creating an advanced and appealing cockpit space.
The powertrain options include gasoline and diesel models. The gasoline model now features a new 1.5 TSI engine (110kW), replacing the previous 1.4 TSI. The diesel model retains the well-regarded 2.0 TDI engine (140kW) but is now paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission for even smoother acceleration. The Alltrack combines the full-time 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system with the long-distance-capable 2.0 TDI engine, providing all-around performance suitable for rough roads.
The driver-assistance systems include two features newly adopted by Volkswagen and standard on all models. The "Travel Assist" system, which supports driving at all speeds within a single lane, is an evolution of the previous "Traffic Assist" system for traffic jams. It assists the driver in maintaining the distance to the vehicle ahead and staying within the lane at speeds set by the driver. This contributes to improved safety and reduced fatigue during long-distance travel on highways and other roads.
The "IQ.LIGHT" LED matrix headlights detect oncoming and preceding vehicles using a front camera and individually control the LEDs in the matrix modules to achieve optimal light distribution. This not only enhances safety but also improves visibility when turning right or left, in conjunction with the dynamic turn indicators.
In terms of infotainment, a new-generation system with constant connectivity has been adopted. Combined with the online service "We Connect," it provides access to the latest traffic information and allows users to check vehicle information such as whether windows are closed or the vehicle's parking location via a dedicated smartphone app. It is now also possible to lock and unlock the vehicle doors via the smartphone.
The body colors include four options, with the new Aquamarine Blue Metallic. The Variant offers five colors, including the R-Line exclusive Lapis Blue Metallic. The Alltrack also comes in five colors, including the new Aquamarine Blue Metallic.
Prices range from 4,299,000 to 5,349,000 yen for the Passat, 4,499,000 to 6,049,000 yen for the Passat Variant, and 5,529,000 to 6,049,000 yen for the Passat Alltrack.
