New Countach LPI 800-4 Announced to Commemorate Countach's 50th Anniversary
Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the new Countach LPI 800-4 supercar on August 13 at "The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering" in Pebble Beach, California. The new model, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the legendary original Countach, will be produced in a limited run of just 112 units, named after its internal project code, "LP112."

Mild Hybrid System Developed for the Sián Produces a Combined Maximum Output of 814 ps
The body, featuring a carbon monocoque and front/rear aluminum frames reminiscent of the original LP500 and LP400, boasts a long, low rectangular grille and headlights that define the Countach's signature "face," prominent hood, and hexagonal-themed wheel arches. A sharp, sloping greenhouse connects to powerful lines flowing from front to rear. The scissor doors, first introduced on the Countach, are retained.
The powertrain features the mild hybrid system developed for the company's electric model, the Sián. The 6.5-liter V12 engine produces a maximum output of 780 ps at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 720 Nm at 6,750 rpm. Combined with the supercapacitor technology serving as the power source and a 34 ps electric motor delivering 35 Nm of torque, it achieves a total maximum output of 814 ps (designated as 800 in the model name). Paired with a 7-speed ISR transmission and a full-time 4WD system, it delivers top-tier Lamborghini performance: 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.6 seconds, and a top speed of 355 km/h. The dry weight of the body is 1,595 kg, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 1.95 kg/ps.
CEO of the company, Stephan Winkelmann, stated, "Like its predecessor, the Countach LPI 800-4 is a model that looks to the future. The Countach, one of the most important icons, not only embodies Lamborghini's design and engineering principles but, above all, represents the philosophy of 'having big dreams.' The LPI 800-4 is a vision of how the Countach, an icon of the 70s and 80s, would evolve into an elite supersport model in the 2020s. It is a model that essentially expresses Lamborghini's timeless, emotional power, delivering inspiration and thrills through its appearance, sound, and most importantly, its driving experience."
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2022.
