Audi to Host Online Time Trial Competition

Audi Japan has announced that it will host the “Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo Challenge,” a time trial competition featuring the virtual futuristic model "e-tron Vision Gran Turismo" of the electric vehicle (EV) "e-tron" to be introduced to the Japanese market later this year. The event will run from May 1st (Friday) to May 15th (Friday), aiming to share the importance of #stayhome (self-restraint from going out) and enjoyment at home.

Venue: PlayStation 4 "Gran Turismo Sport"

In response to the state of emergency declared to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, Audi Japan is holding an online time trial competition to share the enjoyment of motorsports at home, targeting children unable to attend school, motorsport fans confined to their homes, and drivers unable to participate in races.

This competition will utilize the software "Gran Turismo Sport" for PlayStation 4. A fierce battle to determine the fastest driver will unfold on the virtual Fuji Speedway, the same circuit where the real-life "e-tron Vision Gran Turismo" raced in 2018. Furthermore, prizes such as a circuit experience in a real "R8" are being offered to the competition winners.

Through this competition, Audi Japan, along with the#RaceHome Charity Racing Series

currently being held in Germany, aims to reiterate the importance of #stayhome and convey "AudiTogether."
