BMW Unveils Upgraded 8 Series and 8 Series M Models
On March 23, BMW announced the upgraded 8 Series luxury coupe and its high-performance M model, featuring revised exteriors and interiors to enhance their appeal.
Equipped with Safety and Driver Assistance Systems, Including Japan's First Approved Hands-Off Function
For the 8 Series, the sporty M Sport bumpers and wheels are now standard on all models, enhancing the sporty feel across the lineup. Additionally, the "Exclusive M Sport" trim has been added, significantly improving perceived quality and functionality with standard 20-inch alloy wheels, bi-color Merino leather seats, a handcrafted crystal shift knob, and a panoramic glass sunroof (for the Gran Coupe).
In terms of safety, the "Traffic Jam Assistant with Hands-Off Function" is standard, reducing driver workload in situations like highway traffic jams. On the connectivity front, the "BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant," which uses AI to activate functions and services through natural conversation, and "Amazon Alexa," which can be used via the "My BMW" smartphone app, are now available.
Furthermore, the high-performance M850i models feature an illuminated grille with a more stylish front bumper design, enhancing their presence at night. They also adopt a new design for the door mirrors, mirroring that of the M high-performance models, and feature an M badge on the front grille. The interior is updated with a large 12.3-inch center display.
The M8 models, renowned for their high performance on the track, come standard with M headlight shadow line accents for a more aggressive look. Additionally, special M badges commemorating BMW M's 50th anniversary are applied to the front, rear, and wheels.
The interior features a large 12.3-inch center display, consistent with other models. Optional M front carbon bucket seats are available to enhance stability during sporty driving on the circuit. Driver assistance and connectivity features have been evolved similarly to the standard models.
Pricing ranges from 12.28 million to 14.03 million yen for the 8 Series Coupe, 13.26 million to 15.01 million yen for the Cabriolet, and 11.98 million to 13.76 million yen for the Gran Coupe. The M850i series ranges from 17.73 million to 19.07 million yen, and the M8 series ranges from 24.40 million to 25.87 million yen.
