Ferrari Matches Donations to Support Modena's Healthcare
Joining Ferrari in this initiative are owners from around the world who have participated in "Cavalcade," a special driving tour organized by the company. Within just a few days of its launch, the fund reached €1 million, with expectations of further growth in the coming weeks.
The initial donations were immediately directed to Modena, the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari, to support the local healthcare facilities of the Italian National Health Service, Azienda Unita Sanitaria Locale (AUSL), in treating COVID-19 patients and acquiring necessary medicines and medical equipment to combat the infection.
A portion of the funds will also be used to expand telemedicine services. This system allows for remote monitoring of symptoms in citizens suspected of COVID-19 infection via devices connected via Bluetooth to smartphones or tablets. AUSL Modena is already utilizing this technology, thanks to Ferrari's donation, to monitor patients who tested positive for the virus in care facilities within the province housing individuals with neurological disorders.
In addition, Ferrari has donated an ambulance to AUSL Modena. This vehicle is already being utilized day and night to its full capacity for numerous COVID-19 related patients in emergency medical services.
Ferrari is considering further initiatives to deliver tangible support to the local community for as long as the current emergency persists.
