BMW's compact coupe, the 2 Series, arrives in Japan—achieving a more dynamic, coupe-like drive

The High-Performance M240i xDrive

The "M240i xDrive," the high-performance model of the 2 Series, features the muscular styling of the 2 Series coupe, further enhanced with Cerium Grey side mirrors and a rear spoiler. This not only improves aerodynamic performance but also creates a more aggressive aesthetic.

The powertrain has also been upgraded, featuring a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder gasoline twin-turbo engine that produces a maximum output of 285kW (387ps) and 500Nm of torque. This is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and drives all four wheels via the xDrive AWD system.

To further enhance its M model character, reinforcements have been added to the front lower section and rear suspension mounting points, increasing torsional rigidity.

Safety features and connectivity are the same as those found in the 2 Series.

The "M240i xDrive" is priced at 7.58 million yen, while the basic 2 Series "220i" is 5.08 million yen, and the "220i M Sport" is 5.50 million yen. Deliveries for all models are scheduled to begin in March 2022.
