PHEV with Upgraded Electric Range and Performance
Porsche Japan began accepting reservations on Tuesday, August 29, for the "Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid" and "Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupé," the most powerful models in Porsche's SUV lineup.
739 PS System Output, 950 Nm Torque, 295 km/h Top Speed
The Cayenne, which received a new third-generation model announcement in April this year, now welcomes the "Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid" and "Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupé" as its top-tier and most powerful variants ever.
These are the successor PHEV models to the previous "Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid," characterized by significant upgrades in electric range and performance. They offer substantial improvements in both everyday usability and driving dynamics.
The powertrain combines a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 441 kW (599 PS) with an electric motor delivering 130 kW (176 PS). This combined unit achieves a total output of 544 kW (739 PS) and a maximum torque of 950 Nm, reaching a top speed of 295 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
The high-voltage battery capacity has also been increased to 25.9 kWh, extending the electric-only range to up to 82 km. An 11 kW onboard charger is now standard.
Adaptive air suspension featuring 2-chamber, 2-valve technology is standard. This allows for independent adjustment of the suspension's rebound and compression stages, enhancing handling during cornering. At lower speeds, it prioritizes comfort, thereby equally improving both ride comfort and safety.
Porsche states this allows for a wider range between the suspension's Comfort and Sport Plus settings.
The exterior also befits its position as the series' top model. The front features a distinctive style exclusive to the Turbo models, with large cooling air intakes accented by gloss-black air blades.
The wheel arch trims and the body-colored rear bumper further emphasize its performance-oriented nature.
The interior similarly incorporates sporty accents, with aluminum inlays on the dashboard and door panels underscoring the focus on performance.
Standard equipment includes the GT Sport steering wheel, leather sports seats, and a mode switch for quick and direct selection of desired driving modes.
Additionally, Porsche offers a "GT Package" for the "Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupé," providing even sportier performance.
The body is set 10 mm lower. GT-specific pivot bearings increase the front axle camber by -0.58 degrees, which, combined with wider front wheels, contributes to more dynamic steering response, improved overall steering performance, and enhanced cornering grip.
High-performance Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and 22-inch GT design wheels with performance tires are also standard. The roof is made of lightweight carbon fiber, resulting in a top speed of 305 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.6 seconds, making it a more high-performance model.
All "Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid" series models feature right-hand drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Pricing starts at ¥23,420,000 for the "Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid," ¥24,000,000 for the Coupé, and ¥27,900,000 for the Coupé GT Package.
