BMW's Second Electric Motorcycle Arrives
BMW has announced the "CE 04," an electric scooter powered by an electric motor. It will be released on Friday, April 22, 2022.
A Range of Approximately 130 km
BMW, which already released the electric scooter "C Evolution" in 2017, is now releasing the CE 04 as its second model.
The CE 04 is equipped with a permanent magnet electric motor that generates a maximum output of 31 kW (42 hp) in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel. The battery capacity is 60.6 Ah (8.9 kWh), providing a range of approximately 130 km.
Charging is compatible with 200V AC power, allowing for a full charge in about 4 hours from complete discharge.
Riding modes include "Eco," "Rain," and "Road." The Japanese specification also features a "Dynamic" mode for faster acceleration. For braking, it is equipped with a twin-disc brake on the front and a single-disc system on the rear. Furthermore, BMW states that the latest generation of ABS Pro is used, with banking sensors controlling braking even in corners to provide maximum safety.
The design clearly identifies it as a member of the BMW Motorrad family, while also expressing urban mobility through the use of colors like gray and orange. It features wheels with a disc-like appearance and a side stand integrated into the body.
Additionally, it features powerful LED light units for the headlights. The rear, turn signals, and indicator lamps also incorporate LEDs.
Comfort features include a standard seat heater and grip heater. It is also equipped with ETC 2.0.
The price of the CE 04 is 1,610,000 yen.
