TOYOTA announced on April 28 that it would partially refine the Supra sports model and sell a limited 27 units of the RZ in Matte Stream Gray Metallic, along with a special edition RZ “Horizon Blue Edition” in limited quantities.

This partial refinement increases the engine output of the Supra's top grade, the RZ, by 35kW (14%) from the previous generation to a maximum output of 285kW (387ps) at 5,800rpm and a maximum torque of 500Nm at 1,800-5,000rpm.

Furthermore, a brace was added to the front section to enhance body rigidity, and the suspension was retuned accordingly, improving cornering stability. Although this increased the vehicle weight by 10kg, the 0-100km/h acceleration was shortened from the previous 4.3 seconds to 4.1 seconds.

Additionally, applications for the 27 limited-edition Matte Stream Gray Metallic RZ units will be accepted exclusively online from April 28 (Tuesday) to May 24 (Sunday), with sales commencing around October after a lottery. Furthermore, a special edition RZ “Horizon Blue Edition” will be offered in 100 units, featuring a newly adopted Horizon Blue exterior color, matte black 19-inch forged alloy wheels, seats combining Alcantara and black leather upholstery, and blue stitching on the seat upholstery, instrument panel, door trims, and steering wheel. These will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The price for the RZ is ¥7,313,000 (an additional ¥352,000 option price is required for the Matte Stream Gray Metallic model). The special edition RZ “Horizon Blue Edition” is priced at ¥7,413,000.
