Enhanced Touring and Riding Performance, with Strengthened Safety Features

The R 1250 RT has been developed to offer both comfort and dynamic driving, maximizing enjoyment on long tours. This new model arrives with a lineage spanning over 40 years.
The powertrain remains the traditional 1254cc two-cylinder boxer engine, producing a maximum output of 100 kW (136 hp). Featuring ShiftCam technology for variable control of intake camshaft timing and valve lift, it delivers power across the entire engine speed range for smooth, refined operation, while also contributing to fuel efficiency and lower emissions.
The new model boasts improved aerodynamics thanks to a newly developed front fairing, enhancing both touring capability and riding dynamics. The front fairing design not only frames the newly adopted full LED headlights but also has a lower upper section, broadening the rider's field of vision and contributing to a lighter, more dynamic impression.
Standard equipment includes the Full Integral ABS Pro system, which activates both front and rear brakes simultaneously when either the handbrake or footbrake lever is operated.
Additionally, the new Active Cruise Control (ACC) uses radar sensors to measure the distance to the vehicle ahead and adjusts acceleration and deceleration according to the riding situation, supporting a relaxed touring experience. The following distance can be adjusted via switches and is displayed on the TFT meter. During cornering, speed is automatically reduced based on the lean angle. The ACC operates within a speed range of 30 to 160 km/h.
The Dynamic Cruise Control (DCC), also standard, primarily utilizes engine braking on descents during solo rides, automatically engaging the full integral brakes as needed to maintain the set speed.
Also standard are Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) for optimal traction and safety across various riding modes, and a new "Eco" riding mode. Furthermore, the "Pro" riding mode includes the new Dynamic Engine Brake Control (MSR), which prevents excessive slip or instability during downshifts in coasting overrun mode by applying braking to the rear wheel.
The R 1250 RT is priced at 3.07 million yen, with deliveries scheduled to begin in late March 2021.
