Development Concept: "New Space, New Sensation COROLLA"

Since its debut in 1966, the Corolla has been a global model for TOYOTA, with over 50 million units sold in more than 150 countries and regions. The "Corolla Cross" is the first SUV model in this series. With the development concept of "New Space, New Sensation COROLLA," it aims to achieve a balance of a spacious interior and high utility unique to SUVs, along with powerful driving performance and low fuel consumption.
The body dimensions are 4,490mm in length, 1,825mm in width, and 1,620mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,640mm. The exterior adopts an "Urban Active" design concept, featuring a dynamic and sophisticated SUV-like design. The contrast between the upper section with its flowing lines for the glass and lamps, and the wide, stable bumper section, creates an urban and dignified proportion. Eight sophisticated and urban exterior colors are available.
The interior features a continuous design from the instrument panel to the door trim, creating a sense of spaciousness. All interior lighting uses LEDs, achieving a refined and high-quality interior within a casual atmosphere. The front seats are sporty, offering both a slim backrest and excellent support.
The luggage capacity is a class-leading 487 liters, even with five passengers. Folding down the rear seats further expands the space, allowing for the transport of road bikes. The luggage opening is set at a height of 720mm from the ground, making loading and unloading easier, and it features a hands-free power back door. Additionally, the dedicated "Luggage Active Box" for the Corolla Cross allows for storage of items out of sight, and when closed, it can flatten the luggage floor for a larger cargo area, enabling versatile cargo arrangements.
The powertrain options include a 1.8-liter inline-4 gasoline engine model producing 103kW (140ps) / 170Nm, a hybrid model combining a 1.8-liter inline-4 gasoline engine with a front motor producing 72kW (98ps) / 142Nm, and a 4WD model that adds a rear motor producing 5.3kW (7.2ps) / 55Nm. The WLTC mode fuel economy for the hybrid model achieves 26.2km/L.
The platform used is the "GA-C platform," which provides agile and stable handling without the feeling of a high vehicle. The latest Toyota Safety Sense, which supports the driver in all daily situations, is standard on all models. Additionally, an accessory socket (AC100V・1500W) and an emergency power supply mode are available as options for hybrid vehicles. In the event of a power outage or other emergency, the "emergency power supply mode" can be activated while the vehicle is parked, providing a power source for household appliances such as electric kettles and dryers, offering peace of mind in emergencies.
The price of the Corolla Cross ranges from 1,999,000 yen to 2,640,000 yen for the gasoline models, and 2,590,000 yen to 3,190,000 yen for the hybrid models. The monthly sales target is 4,400 units.
