On Wednesday, October 30, Mercedes-Benz Japan began accepting orders for the "Grand Edition," a special edition of its flagship roadster, the "SL."

A special edition has arrived for the Mercedes-Benz SL, its most luxurious two-seater. The base model is the "SL 400," equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine producing a maximum output of 270 kW (367 hp) and peak torque of 500 Nm. This special edition incorporates features not available on the standard SL 400, enhancing comfort and other aspects.

Notably, it rides on exclusive 19-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels with a high-gloss black finish, a design specially prepared for Japanese customers. The interior is appointed with Nappa leather seats and Light Brown Poplar wood trim, previously found in the SL's top-performance model, the "Mercedes-AMG SL 65," creating a refined atmosphere.

Additionally, it features a panoramic vario-roof with electro-transparent glass, allowing for adjustable tinting, and the "Magic Sky Control" panoramic vario-roof, which opens and closes the roof with a single button. The seats offer fine-tuning with air cushions via the "Multi-Contour Seat" package, including a relaxation function. A Harman/Kardon® Logic 7 surround sound system is also included, and the Radar Safety Package comes as standard for safety.

The body is available in four colors, including Obsidian Black and Graphite Grey. The price is 14.16 million yen, which is 870,000 yen higher than the base SL400.
