The Evolution of the Ferrari Portofino Arrives in Japan: The "Portofino M"

Ferrari Japan announced the arrival of the latest 2+ GT spider, the "Portofino M," on January 14. The "M" stands for "Modificata," a designation used by Ferrari for models that have undergone evolutionary enhancements to boost performance.

Maximum Output Increased by 20 cv, Manettino Evolves to 5 Positions

The body dimensions of the Portofino M are 4,594mm in length, 1,938mm in width, and 1,318mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,670mm. The vehicle weighs 1,545kg.

The powertrain is a 3,855cc V8 twin-turbo engine, which has been named International Engine of the Year for four consecutive years. It produces a maximum output of 620 cv (a 20 cv increase from the Portofino) at 5,750-7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 760 Nm at 3,000-5,750 rpm. Power is delivered through a newly designed gearbox, which is 20% more compact and offers 35% increased torque delivery thanks to its oil-bath dual-clutch structure, now with 8 speeds instead of 7. This allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.45 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.8 seconds, and a top speed of 320 km/h.

In terms of dynamics, the Manettino driving mode selector has been enhanced with 5 positions. The addition of a Race mode is said to maximize driving pleasure and the joy of being behind the wheel. The exterior also features a redesigned front bumper, giving it a sportier and more aggressive form.
