Lexus ES Undergoes Minor Changes
Lexus announced on August 26th that it had made minor changes to its mid-size sedan, the "ES," and began sales on the same day.
Improved Ride Comfort and Linear Drive Feel Achieved
The "ES," launched alongside the flagship "LS" in 1989, is a core model for Lexus, with cumulative sales of 2.78 million units in over 80 countries and regions.
In the new exterior, the front grille's mesh pattern features a new design to emphasize its presence. The headlights adopt the three-lens Blade Scan Adaptive High-beam System and have a thinner lamp unit, giving the car a sharper expression.
Inside, the multimedia system has been made into a touch display, moved 100mm closer to the driver and tilted 5°, making it easier to reach.
New exterior colors include Sonic Iridium and Sonic Chrome, while new interior colors are Hazel and a mauve-based brown.
Furthermore, the rear suspension member brace has been redesigned with a structure combining two plates, enhancing rigidity and ride comfort, and achieving a more linear drive feel during high-speed lane changes. The brake pedal's pad shape and bush mounting method have also been revised to improve lateral rigidity.
The high-performance "F SPORT" model features the latest linear solenoid-type AVS with new actuators, balancing a refined ride with steering responsiveness and stability. It now delivers high performance across various driving scenarios.
In terms of safety, the "Lexus Safety System+" has been enhanced with the addition of functions such as Emergency Steering Assist and improved lane recognition performance. Additionally, updates to the cameras for the digital outer and inner mirrors reduce LED flicker and improve image quality.
There are no changes to the hybrid system, which is based on the A25A-FXS 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. Prices are ¥5.99 million for the ES300h, ¥6.51 million for the F SPORT, and ¥7.15 million for the Version L.
