On Wednesday, October 2nd, Mercedes-Benz Japan launched the "Grand Edition," a special edition model of its flagship sedan, the S-Class.

Two Specifications: Sporty and Luxurious—The S-Class Welcomes the Special Edition 'Grand Edition'
The flagship S-Class, which was among the first to feature "Intelligent Drive" and "Mercedes me connect," a system where the car itself communicates, now welcomes the "Grand Edition" special edition. The "Grand Edition" comprises two variants: the "Sport Limited," which emphasizes sportiness, and the "Chauffeur Limited," which enhances rear-seat comfort and refines the functionality and design for chauffeur-driven use.
The "Sport Limited" is designed for drivers who enjoy the pleasure of driving. It is available for the standard-body "S 400d," "S 400d 4MATIC," and "S 450 Exclusive," as well as the long-wheelbase models "S 560 Long" and "S 560 4MATIC Long."
The exterior features the AMG Line and 20-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels. Inside, the AMG sports steering wheel and black poplar wood interior trim enhance the sporty ambiance. Furthermore, the standard-body models come equipped with a panoramic sliding sunroof, and the Air Balance package, which includes an air purifier and perfume atomizer, is also standard.
Meanwhile, the "Chauffeur Limited," available for the "S 560 Long" and "S 560 4MATIC Long," emphasizes rear-seat comfort and adopts a luxurious exterior. It comes standard with a Chauffeur package specifically for the rear seats, featuring executive rear seats with reclining functions and unique relaxation programs. Wireless charging is also newly available for the rear seats.
The wheels feature elegant 19-inch dish wheels, further enhancing the luxurious image.
Pricing for the "Sport Limited" models includes ¥12.15 million for the 3.0-liter inline-six diesel turbo "S 400d," ¥12.60 million for the all-wheel-drive "S 400d 4MATIC," and ¥13.95 million for the 3.0-liter gasoline turbo "S 450 Exclusive." For the long-wheelbase models, the 4.0-liter V8 gasoline twin-turbo "S 560 Long" is ¥17.30 million, and the all-wheel-drive "S 560 4MATIC Long" is ¥17.66 million.
The "Chauffeur Limited" models are priced at ¥17.30 million for the "S 560 Long" and ¥17.66 million for the all-wheel-drive "S 560 4MATIC Long."
